Didn't realise how much of a hit it was... #14 on the Hot 100 is pretty darn good!!!

It would've done better than that had Michael and Sony been on better terms at the time. That song really introduced him to a younger audience,one that wasn't paying him any attention otherwise. One of music's great disappointments due to a power struggle.

Butterflies was not even released as a single, IIRC. It was a promotional record but that shows how strong people took Michael's voice...

Had MJ's relationship with Sony not been shaky as it was in 2001, it would've done better as Quinn pointed out. But we know what happened with that.
