Hi everyone,

I have every DRATS expanded edition and I finally bought the 5-disc Supremes box. I'm getting very confused with all the available versions of the songs, as some of them were unique when the box was released, but then were subsequently released on the deluxe versions. Does anyone know which tracks are still exclusive to the box, and [[more importantly) has anyone ever thought about putting together a complete track discography describing and detailing all the tracks available and where to get them?

Thanks!
Marcio

That exhaustive task would have to be undertaken by someone with a lot of spare time on their hands Marcio! I am currently playing the box set for the first time in several years and it is an interesting listen, but not quite as exciting as it was all those years ago prior to the expanded editions. I guess we have been well and truly spoiled by Andy, George and the team.

Ive tried updating my iTunes songs as we learn more information. Remember the box set was released years ago [[2000 I think?) and so more info might be available today than then. Andy and team are pretty good about labeling things in the new sets.

For instance You’re My Driving Wheel. There’s the lp version on the Let Yourself Go set. Then they did the extended version w alt vocals on that set. They also mention that an edited version of this one was available on Greatest Hits & Rare Classics. Then there was the promo 45 mix on there pink box set. Which I believe was also used on At Their Best.

Yes it can be confusing. I would suggest using these liner notes and make a parenthetical notation on the song in iTunes. Also asking people here is a good approach too

One song that immediately comes to mind is the unedited version of "Floy Joy".

Is this the pink suede effect box we are talking about? I have 4 discs plus there is a separate promo disc. Or is it a different release.

mysterysinger, that is the set they are talking about. The promo disc contained live versions of the hits. Not every set contained that disc, it was a limited release.
