Over the years, I've seen a lot of amazing picture sleeves and EP sleeves for various Motown artists from around the world. A great many of them would have made for excellent album covers. In fact, it seems these 45 and EP sleeves were more creative graphic-wise than the standard album covers. Here are a few of those as well as some album covers from around the world.

Very nice pictures. Thank you! You're welcome, Marv. What really stuns me [[I guess that's the word) is that it seems other countries were really valuing various photographs of the Tamla Motown artists more so than in the U.S. That first image of Marvin Gaye alone is an incredible visual.

I use to think that too until I learned otherwise. The U.S. really received picture sleeves for the singles. The reason? Too expensive to produce for such a large market. So we got either the plain white sleeves or the ones with pictures of current and upcoming Motown releases.

When the Donovan Building was demolished on Woodward Ave. , there were tons of pictures and other printed material lying among the ruins.
