I remember buying that CD sometime in 1988 and thinking "wow. This is a voice I will follow". Still do.

She's since retired. But what I remember most about her legendary career...when she took "Lately"[[Tyrese's song) and bent/cajoled/transformed it into an Anita Baker song!!! "Songbird", indeed!! Anita, come back...be like Jordan!!!!

She is still performing: she is one of the main artists at this years Northsea Jazz festival in july 2019 in Rotterdam Holland;
