Today is the 72nd birthday of the legendary Thelma Houston. She is really a great singer and performer. I have always appreciated and enjoyed Thelma and feel that she never achieved the success that she was able to accomplish. Don't Leave Me This Way is absolutely one of my top five Motown songs.

Happy Birthday Thelma. Many many more.

I could not even imagine a record collection that did not include the work of Thelma Houston. She has recorded some brilliant records [[and I believe there is only one that I don't own). Thank you, Ms. Houston, for all the music and I hope your birthday is a wonderful and joyous occasion!

Of course, I love "Don't Leave Me This Way", but I enjoy this funky album track, "Triflin'" even more.

When I was an actor, I used Throw You Down to get my energy going. It's brilliant for jumping around and getting your blood moving! In fact, I may go listen to it now!

That is indeed a great album. Thelma is a magnificent singer, and she should have been a superstar. She was comfortable doing so many different genres. A class act.

Thelma Houston has a voice to thrill and artistry withoutend. Much as I love Luther – just as Aretha stole Otis’ song – she darn wellstole Never Too Much right from under his nose. And on that same albumreinvented Ain’t That Peculiar so totally I’m sure even Marvin would’ve agreed.Happy birthday Ms Houston, please don’t ever stop singing.
