Daryl Hall backup singing for Tempts and the Miracles?

I was reading the Billboard Book of Number 1 RnB Hits write-up for the Hall and Oates song, "I Can't Go For That [[No Can Do)" and it stated that Daryl Hall did backup singing for the Temptations and The Miracles when they appeared at the Uptown Theater in Philadelphia in the 1960s.

Anyone have any further information on this?
