Mrs. Wilson, a pre-school teacher when I was very young. Esther Rolle & John Amos, Dr. King, Smokey & Claudette, Bobby and Pete, Richard Roundtree, Jocko Henderson, Bobby Jay and many friends everyday and throughout life.

Soul Brother Number One, James Brown. Words cannot describe what this little dark child felt upon hearing for the first time on the radio, "Um with your bad self, say it loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud." Just writing about this brings tears to my eyes.
