The Lady is celebrated with her very own Black Heritage Month stamp on sale January 30, 2018. June 2017 was her centennial. Beautifully done. Wow! I hadn't heard anything about this. This is great news, Lena deserves it. I had the great privilege of seeing "The Horne" when The Lady And Her Music came to the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles in the early 80's. Awesome performance.

I took this photo when my best bud, Bruce, and I went to see Lena Horne [[see above). We wound up with seats way in the back, and were very grateful just to get tickets. Of course photography was forbidden but I had a camera [[Instamatic?) with me, just in case. When the show ended folks ran up to the stage and that was when I snapped this.

It's not a great photo, but it has become a great memory. So much time has passed so quickly. Now Bruce is gone, Lena's gone. Even a long life is not a long time.
