It's sad to consider this, but The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame is struggling under the weight of the current economic climate. Theirs is a labor of love & respect for the music & the creators of that sound, many of whom have received precious little acknowledgement for their pioneering efforts, nor were able to reap the monetary benefits of their labor.
And now, they could use our help. For those who are unaware of their mission, here's a little background about The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame & what they represent...
The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame was founded in January 1997 with the goal of honoring the “Greatest Vocal Groups of The World” & represents music in EVERY genre. They're people just like me & you who fell in love with music, the artists & seek to preserve the rich legacy that these artists helped to create.
Here's an important snippet from their mission statement follows...
"The Vocal Group Hall of Fame Foundation was designed to help extend the life-long careers of the inducted Vocal Groups by recognizing them as performers, composers and creators of much of the music that influenced today ’s popular music, the music business and our music culture..."
They are STAUNCH supporters of the 'Truth In Music Bill', with their committee headed by Jon Bauman of 'Sha Na Na'.

At every turn, it seems as though our generation is under attack. Radio stations eliminate our music from the airwaves though constant format changes. Record label deals for many of these artists are non-existent. Despite having no room for these artists, nor their music on their playlists nor record labels, this music is so vital, so important, that this music...the Madison Avenue & Hollywood uses this sound to sell everything from movies to food.
Which means that it DOES HAVE VALUE & WORTH!
But as with most things these days, where people seek to honor & preserve things which have worth & value, donations are down & costs are up. If love paid the bills, then The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame would be rich.
Sadly, love doesn't & that's where we come in.

The music of our generation & that of our parents need all the help & all of friends that we can get. And I'm sure that all of the inductees of The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame would agree that The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame has been a friend to them.
I wish them well in this endeavor & I hope that they will be a vital & strong champion of our music & our artists for many years to come.
