Apparently Sandy was given a few leads during her brief time with Cal's reconstructed Velvelettes, covering Martha/Vandellas songs. She also covered "[[We've Got) Honey Love."

It's ironic, then, that she would end up in the latter group eventually [[like her Velvelettes predecessor, Betty Kelley). Vocally, she was adequate if not spectacular. The couple of times I saw her [[as a Vandella), she had a very nice stage presence and the audiences liked her.
