The songstress will be turning 60 in a few weeks and she has announced that there will be a farewell tour. No dates yet but something to look forward to https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/8085885/anita-baker-retirement-farewell-concert-series

A farewell album would be nice too.

I've read she's "difficult" to work with, but I'd still travel to see her. Her songs are the soundtrack to my late 80s and 1990s experience. I agree that a farewell album would be fitting.

To say she is difficult to work with is a severe understatement thanxal, but when she opened her mouth to sing rather than scream and curse it was truly a magical experience. I wouldn't go to watch her in concert again unless i was at a very safe distance, but i would certainly purchase any new music she may decide to release. I can only assume the money is running out otherwise she would probably not put herself [[and many others) through all this shit again.

I'll defer to you on this, since I've only read secondhand pieces and it sounds like you have firsthand experience. Having seen so much bad behavior behind the public persona from the "stars" over the years, I can't say I'm surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised.

She's mean. She had a rough upbringing. But she can really sing!

I agree. She is one of my favorite singers.

This seems to be getting like Cher’s “retirement.”
