I love some of these tunes but i have never rated Ray Parker Jnr as a vocalist. He is a very gifted songwriter and producer but that voice has always left me cold. I prefer the Raydio hits that had other lead vocalists on them, but if you are a fan of that voice then this is a great compilation for sure.

Interesting about the voice, Mr. Parkers singing to me had a pronounced sense of detachment to it. I don't know if it is LA Cool, or just being very offhanded, but with a different vocal approach, could the songs have connected more?

I suspect so.In my opinion he always sounded like he was just going through the motions with no real soul or emotion in his voice. Each to his own i guess.
