Sad to see this. I was lucky to see him in person and
he was fantastic.

This is sad news, lakeside. Although I haven’t been keeping up with the latest crop of classical vocalists as I once did, I still love the Classical Choral works and various Operas, and I have tons of it in my CD and DVD collections. Hvorostovsky was far too talented to have died at such a young age.

The duet from Bizet’s "The Pearl Fishers’ is one of my all-time favorite pieces. Here it is performed by Hvorostovsky and Kaufmann

I wasn't familiar with Mr. Hvorostovsky, but oh, what a glorious instrument he had. RIP.
