Per The NY Times at her home in California at age 86. RIP Della, a great singer, and actress.

I just saw the news. She was a giant! She was a Detroiter. She was my Grandmothers' favorite singer! Loved Della Reese!

She was a tremendous actress. I loved her in "Harlem Nights" as Vera.

I’m not familiar with Della at all but I really like this. I shall have to get into some of her music. Thanks for posting copley

I saw Della many times in the 70’s live in concert. She was great!

Della’s version of What Are You doing the Rest of Your Life is the quintessential version. Would someone please post it.

Della was simply an American musical treasure. I'm listening to Della Della Cha Cha Cha as I type. I can't believe she's gone.
