Gorgeous.
An innovative mood adjustment that's drunkenly somber . Odd ending though .

This is worse by far:p:

It’s always dangerous to redo a Diana Ross song and this guy is struggling

I don't mind either of the above [[Human Nature's is too cheesy, but not horrible).

The worst is by the FLO's. There used to be a particularly shrill live version online, but I can't find it anymore, so instead here's their cheap studio, karaoke-like recording:

all of the above have their moments...I have never heard of Human Nature till I saw this....the Muzak version is definitely moody, and I happen to like Scherrie's version. I remember this song as being the "blast off" point for me watching TCB. I became a Sups fan just a tad earlier when Love Child came out, and despite the shortness of the TCB version I was certain that at that very moment I loved the Supremes. I've heard a few covers of this. I think Evelyn Thomas covered it, Gloria Gaynor did...worst version I've heard: The Hollies

Both Mary Wilson and Smokey Robinson have recorded with Human Nature a group out of Australia.

I like the first version posted by Luke.

And here is an interesting interpretation by Margie Joseph She actually made it a hit in 1971 .

The very best cover version of the song ever! Love her deconstruction of this. I thought it was brilliant when it came out and still do. She also gave "My World is Empty Without You" a similar treatment. A very underrated talent. Her 2 Volt albums, which were her first, are better than her Atlantic output, IMHO, but she never made a bad album.

I constantly played Margie's albums in the seventies. Loved her interpretation of the two Supremes included HDH songs.

That is the pure production and arrangement of Isaac Hayes which I
have and did enjoy, still Stax/Volt sometimes didn't quite know exactly what to do with Margie.Of their female artists, The Emotions
got the lion's share of great material. BTW, I never quite got the notion that songs originally done by Diana Ross, or any other singer,
for that matter, were so sacred they "shouldn't" or couldn't be covered by another artist...Seems a little silly to me, but wtf...

I am severely disappointed that no one has yet posted Chantal and the Parking Lot Divas. Very sad.

I am happy to say I have heard of but never before seen Human Nature. Cheesy is right!

Someone mentioned Isaac Hayes in relation to the Margie Joseph version. Other than Hayes himself, if he had attempted to sing it himself, I just don't think this song adapts itself well to a male singer. Of course in his early days Hayes specialized at long, again what I like to call "deconstructed" versions of familiar songs, such as his "Walk On By." But Human Nature doing this seems silly, almost like it's a Diane Ross imitation. The lyrics, but more especially the arrangement, just doesn't suit a male singer - especially an aging boy band!

Not sure if it is the worst version of Stop! but I think the Gloria Gaynor 1983 disco version is quite daring in changing the chorus!

And from the same year as the Gloria Gaynor one [[1983), Stop! by The Hollies, which interestingly was their last single to chart in the US [[#29).

I agree, but you have to give The Hollies some credit for turning the song in an anti-war and anti-nuclear weapons race message song with this very cheesy video.
