Betty left the business - something to do with God - there was a good interview at the time of Light in the Attic's cd releases of the classic Betty albums several years ago, though I found it somewhat depressing and sad as Davis seemed to be somewhat of a recluse. Her choice, but the lps are great as is the Columbia collection.

My friends & I were big fans at the time & I was surprised that she didn't become a big star, esp. at the time Parliament/Funkadelic became so big.
