[[SoulTracks, October 6, 2017) We are devastated to inform SoulTrackers of the death of Philadelphia soul legend Walter “Bunny” Sigler at age 76, following a massive heart attack. Few songwriters have influenced a genre like Bunny Sigler. The Philadelphia native and R&B pioneer was the force behind hits from the 60s and 70s. Instant Funk's "I Got My Mind Made Up," Patti Labelle's "Somebody Loves You Baby," The Whispers' "Bingo," Jackie Moore's "Sweet Charlie Babe," and The O'Jays "Sunshine" all came from the pen of Bunny Sigler.

Man, this sucks. This man is a Philly Soul treasure. A fantastic writer and producer and an underrated singer. RIP Bunny, thanks for the jams.

I checked out [[albeit briefly) some of Bunny’s own recordings a while back, and they were great. And of course, he made so much fantastic music for others.

RIP Bunny Sigler

Loved that song that I think was called "Feel So Good." It was a real rocker from the late 60s or early 70s.

So very sorry to hear about Bunny Sigler. He'll go down in history as one of the true cornerstones of Philly Soul. RIP Bunny Sigler.

Oh that is so very true. He came from a musical family being related to Ira Tucker of the Dixie Hummingbirds and Tammi Terrell nee Montgomery. RIP Bunny.

Unfortunately the great tracks he recorded for Neptune Records are largely forgotten, and are worth checking out on YouTube.

RIP Bunny Sigler

Bunny recorded a single with Dee Dee Sharp on the Philadelphia International label called "Conquer The World Together" b/w "We Got A Thing Going" in 1974. The single was issued as "David" Sigler and Dee Dee Sharp as Bunny was under contract to another label.

glad you like that one TomTom!

Bunny Sigler worked an entire album for The Pips in 1979. Tom Moulton got his hands on this cut:

you can really hear the Philly in the strings and horns . Those parts were done in Philly , the rest in LA.

There's a strange Instant Funk transition at 5:51 that takes over the song thereafter ....

Bunny was amazing. First, from Tom Moulton, I find out that he was Italian [[Bundino). Then, from Heikki, I find out he was Amish!

How was Tammi related to Bunny?

Marv mentioned shortly before he passed, that Bunny & Tammi were cousins, probably distant cousins.
