What an insult to be watching this TV show and have it announced the group the Masqueraders are performing a recording from 50 years ago being heard for the first time. The song, I'm Just An Average Guy, which was a single on AGP label, distributed by Amy/Mala in 1968 and produced by Tommy Cogbill. This group had many singles, including I Ain't Got To Love Nobody Else, issued on Bell label and also produced by Cogbill. They also recorded for Hi, Stax, ABC, and Bang. They had three lps released. They also recorded backup vocals on records by the Box Tops. I think America's Got Talent has some explaining to do and obviously didn't do their homework on this act. I had the single I'm Just An Average Guy, which hit here in Orlando, FL on local R&B station WOKB. So did the Bell single, I Ain't Got To Love Nobody Else. They are hardly an unkown act. Everything they've done just about is available on YouTube. They had a CD collection issued titled Unmasked in 2006.
