I'm working on a Michigan Music History project, and am needing one song by a Detroit artist. The song is called "Girl [[Don't Treat Me Like You Do)" by Ricky Dee. The flip side, "I'm Gonna Make Her Mine" became a big Northern Soul hit, but "Girl" is the song I need, as it charted briefly in the Detroit area when it was released in 1966. If anyone in the Forum can provide me with an mp3 copy of the song, I'd really appreciate it.

Hi therad, a rare and unheard B-Side from an unknown artist, eh? Interesting!

I should say, unfortunately I don't have an MP3 of the track for you, and cannot find it on YouTube either. The single is listed on discogs but there are no copies of it for sale.

Here's that discogs page: https://www.discogs.com/Ricky-Dee-Im-Gonna-Make-Her-Mine/release/10303298

The single is also on 45cat: http://www.45cat.com/record/nc478595us

Do you know much about Ricky Dee? According to discogs "I'm Gonna Make Her Mine" was the only ever he single released, but 45cat suggests that he also had singles out as Ricky Drapkin and Rick Martell. Interesting... :)

Ok, I'm finding a lot more when looking for Ricky Drapkin online, it turns out his daughter actually posted on SDF in 2008!!! So he was also known as Ricky Dee and Rick Martell for some reason. And he was a songwriter too... he co-wrote "Devil In His Heart" [[recorded by The Beatles) and "Together We Can Make Such Sweet Music"...!

Here's that thread by the way: http://faac.us/adf/messages/188095/185505.html?1230105129

Anyway, now that I have established who the guy is, I also found this auction page for his "I'm Gonna Make Her Mine" single. It doesn't look likes it's actually for sale though. Oh, the auction ended in 2012, oops

Sorry for rambling on in your thread though, therad... I hope this has helped, lol :D
