Aretha looks alarmingly skinny in the shorts picture [[cash in hand ...); the GIFs make it look like she can't stand up without assistance.

I love Aretha. Big or small, haughty or humble [[and she has NEVER been humble). That voice is imprinted on me from my earliest days. Growing up, she was the one artist everyone in my household could agree to love. She was one of my first concerts.

But she is alarmingly thin. I'm sorry to say so but extreme weight loss over short period of time for a woman her age is usually not a good thing.

I wonder how she sounds. She may never come back to L.A. I may have to travel somewhere to see her again.

I concur on all points, and regret if my original comments seemed unfeeling. The thinness of the legs and apparent lack of lower body strength [[requiring help to stand) are troubling. My first LP was the gold 'Aretha's Gold' in 1969 and I've seen most of Franklin's tours since the mid 70's. I hate to think there will be a time when I will no longer experience that voice live and in the same room.

I do hope so too. By the way Mary Wilson and Freda Payne are in the audience.

Did you see them in video or just know they were there?
