The above is a typical UK Northern Soul track ... after the Wigan Casino era ended around 1980 [[stompers were in vogue at that venue -- 100mph tempo items). After the 70's, the tempo of top NS tracks gradually slowed as the punters got older. Barbara Lewis had many top NS tracks & even played a gig here [[@ the Cleethorpes Soul Weekender) around 2000.
