Brenda Holloway's Birthday - when is it or was it?

Today's newspaper reports that today is Brenda Holloway's 71st birthday. There are conflicting reports as to which day she was born. Several sources indicate 6/21/46 while others indicate today 6/26/46.

At any rate, Happy Birthday to the legendary Brenda Holloway. Hope your birthday was eventful and every Motown Forum member should play some of her great songs today as a tribute to her.

Thanks for clarifying this. It is surprising how two different birthdates have been circulated and put into print but I suspected that the news media was correct because they don't print "fake news."

Brenda is delighted like you she hasn't heard the CD yet but she knows what's on it - I guess she recorded so many tracks whilst with the label recalling single ones 50 years later is a little difficult. However she is thrilled that there is still a market [[unless we prove her wrong of course) for her music and will catch up with everyone when she is over in [[I think it's) September. Hopefully she might consider doing one or two tracks from the CD to promote it in her show you never know....and me well - as always I'm spellbound.

Rudy is quite right. Brenda's birthday is 26 June and when I asked her about it being reported as 21 June, she said it didn't make that much difference and to leave it as that. The chat I had with her for the CD notes was great fun and totally entertaining. And it's true as Paul said, she hadn't heard the tracks included on the CD, and some titles she couldn't remember as she had spent so much time in the studio during this period, not really knowing if the tracks were completed or not. She currently is studying to become a minister, a course that will take three years and her ministry will welcome folks other ministries aren't keen to accept for various reasons. Keep I your mind the phrase 'seductive soul' - all will soon become apparent! How's about Chris Clark next?
