What a great find. Yes his dancing was stiff but it's a great Frank Wilson song anyway. What a difference Marvin Gaye made to this song a year later.

Peterson was coming off of teen idol status at this time. I think his show, Donna Reed Show, was already off the air and he was now in that stratosphere of former child star trying to make it as an adult. This kind of music was not suited to his voice which is rather thin anyway. He'd have done better with songs like Frankie Avalon or Tommy Roe were doing at the time.

Even if he could dance, IMHO Paul Petersen's "Chained" is mediocre. His voice would've been better suited to R. Dean Taylor's "Gotta See Jane" or "Indiana Wants Me".

Somebody on here gave us the heads up to this upload not so long back. Love the song... but by Marvin

Not only is Marvin Gaye's version of "Chained" the better version of this song, I also think the backing track on Marvin's is stronger.

We had an exact carbon copy of this thread, complete with upload of Marvin's version, only some months ago. It's deja vu all over again! :p
