Does anyone remember a girl group called Brandye. From what I can tell they were heavy into doing back up vocals but beyond that I'm not familiar with these ladies. Any info you have would be helpful!

I do remember them although I know very little about them. They did background vocals on many of Millie Jackson's albums. They also had their own album on the Kayvette label.

Pam Vincent was also a member.

Thanks Reece. Do you remember the name of the album and was there anything that stands out or made the charts?

Apparently they have decided to revived the group for one last hurrah. One of the members [[Donna Davis) use to sing with Ronnie Mac. I'm curious about who they are and what they did solo more so than backup so any info would be helpful.

Brandye released only one album called Crossover To Brandye on Kayvette in 1978 [[dist. by T.K. Records). There were two singles from the record; "Rhythm Of Love"/"Curiousity" & "You Accuse Me" [[same song on both sides). Other than that they did backup vocals for Millie Jackson, Bob Seger and others.

So it seems back up was their main gig. Nothing wrong with that but I was curious about them and wondering if they had a shot for a one last hurrah. I guess it depends on what they put out now though but I still believe"real" music [[and old school artists) are marketable so we shall see. Thanks for the replies.

Any other comments are still welcomed!

Here is the album. It's kind of a "meh" output in my opinion, but you might like it more than I do.

Oh, well, I found the thread, but it was a lot shorter than I remember [[maybe that's why the memories are so vague!!!) but I hope this helps:

"One Woman's Trash" was a hot cut on that album.

"One Woman's Trash" is a good soul track to say it came out in the middle of the disco boom ...

I like "You Accuse Me."

Does anyone know who sings lead on that and did the same singer do most of the leads?

Thanks TomatoTom123.

It seems they are best known for their backup vocals. At this stage of the game it will be interesting if they can parlay that into another group album but I do like their voices.
