Another great legend has passed today. Don was responsible along with his partner Al Nevins for discovering so many artists and writers and the founder of Dimension Records. I worked with him back in the 70's He was 74. RIP my friend.

The piece I have read says he was 77 and died of heart failure at his home on Monday, Jan. 17th, of heart failure.

NPR has a nice little retrospective of his life and career. I didn't know that one could consider Kirshner insturmental in forming the Brill Building crop of songwriters.....

Also, he died in Boca Raton, FL, where he was living.

From Dimension Records on the man contributed greatly to music and musical performance. Thank you, Don Kirshner. Rest In Peace.

I always remember Dimension 45's for their non-label label. The printing being directly on the vinyl, in blue and sometimes purple.

The first things that came to my mind when I saw his name here was a lot of fun and enterntainment. That is how I will remember Don Kirschner! RIP and thank you!

wow! I didnt expect to see this! He was one of the main people who brought LIVE acts to tv whether it be rock, soul or Disco. RIP man I watched Don Ks Rock Concert faithfully.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about this. As far as live music on tv goes, it didn't any better then DCRC. And lets not for get The Monkees & The Archies.

Oh he should definitely be there. He brought live rock concerts in to the living rooms of a generation! He definitely made a contribution to the music and our lives.

I stayed up many late nights watching either ABC In Concert, The Midnight Special,and D.K.R.C. [[great TV moments) :)

a major loss to the music industry. i hope the grammys pay their respects to him.. i used to watch this when i was a kid. i will spend this cold weekend watching some of my favorite episodes of D.K.R.C. R.I.P. and thank you for the great entertainment!

Don was a gret collector of talent at the Brill Building and a major figure in the history of the music. This is bad news indeed.

We sometimes forget the gifts of our legends far to quick. He brought a lot of joy through his work to a lot of people. RIP.
