That was generally a great performance. Mary nailed it as usual and it was smart that they stuck to the original tempo and the LYRICS!

One thing I noticed. The guy that uploaded this concert that I have had for MANY years is incorrect it was from 1974 and not 1975!

I just for once, want her to sing that song BY HERSELF. That's how the record should have been, and that's how it always should be.

Were you not impressed with Scherrie? I thought she did well...in fact, I would have liked to have heard her do the whole song.

Nah, that is a "Mary Wilson" lead if there ever was one......
I was impressed with Scherrie--she didnt oversing as is her tendency. Why oh why does Mary not use her higher register more??

Mary is good on record, and she sings this song well live. I'd like to hear Scherrie sing this solo. She sounded wonderful. She is a great vocalist.

I just don't like Scherrie signing ballads. At all.

She is not very effective on ballads. She would be good on Broadway or somewhere. Mary is the ballad singer.

I don't like the arrangement on this version though. It drags and makes the song sound like a funeral dirge.

Very nicely done - with a slight mood change to a great arrangement.

Apparently, this concert was part of a series of televised concerts in Japan called "Love Sounds". The Bee Gees did one as well:

I wonder how many others were televised?

I agree with luke [[on Scherrie's subdued singing) and with smark21 [[on the arrangement). It lacks the galop rhythm the original had after the break and made it more than just a ballad to me.
