Her voice was magnificent, and luckily for us she recorded a lot of songs, very few of which were poor. I treasure my friendship with this gloriously mixed up lady who both thrilled me and frustrated me in almost equal measure.I think about her every day and i am sure she is looking down on us with both pride and surprise that we still mourn her passing and celebrate her glorious career. A true maverick if ever there was one.

I love Dusty. Oddly, my introduction to her was 1982's "White Heat." Polygram sent a promo copy to the high school newspaper for review. No one was familiar enough with her to want to review it but I took it home and listened to it. It was so bizarre: her voice was soulful and sad, and those tracks were gurgling synth nightmares: "Donnez Moi", "I Am Curious", "Don't Think We Could Ever Be Friends", etc. Even listening to it today --familiar with the full breadth of her catalogue and musical history -- "White Heat" is still a bizarre album for her.
