As a platform promoting blues jazz r&b and soul, the Chess brothers arguably made a contribution at least equal to that of the founders of Atlantic and Motown. The Dells Greatest Hits album issued on Cadet in USA and Chess in the UK is a diamond of an album and is still as compelling today as when issued in late 60s. A masterpiece in every respect. RIP Phil Chess

Is there any one left to carry the family name?

Just think how things might have been if the deal with G&H had went through. We'll never know but I'm sure it worked out for the best.
