THE PRIMETTES or SUPREMES

I have never paid these two pictures much attention until lately. Does anyone on this forum know how much time passed between each photo. Looking at the two pictures just because they have on the same outfits does not mean anything to me since everything seems different. The girls probably only had one outfit or two to wear at that time. Also, looking at Barbara Martin in the second pic leads to me to think it is not the same girl in the first pic. Any ideas ?11699

First picture is Diana Ross, Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson & Betty McGlown who was replaced with Barbara Martin in the second picture :)

I am sorry but that is not Betty McGlown in either picture. It is Barbara Martin in both pictures.

It's Barbara Martin in both photos.

I believe there is a year difference between the photos. The first one taken probably sometime in the fall of 1960. Most likely when they first started to record at Motown. The second one definitely in 1961 when they were the Supremes. Motown used the second one as the first promotional photo of the girls when they were still signed to Tamla.

Yes its Barbara Martin in the photos. Miss Martin walked away from the Supremes in 1962 and had a real great carreer in Nursing.

Doesn't matter at all. That is Barbara Martin in the first two group pictures. Where did you see Barbara? I met her and her son in Detroit at Chene Park in 1994.

Mary actually came out to her in the audience with the mic and she sang a bit of "He's Seventeen" with Mary. It was a special moment to be sure with all the Brewster old-timers there to witness it.

Forget the other facial features. Just compare the lips of each girl from one photo to the other. There's no doubt in my mind that they are the same, so it really is Barbara Martin in both.

That is French Model Ariane Sorps.

Back in 2008 Carlo confirmed that shes French model Ariane Sorps.

Nope, not photo shopped. Berry was "interested" in her at the time and invited her back to Detroit from Paris. Mary Wilson wrote about her in her book "Dreamgirl, My Life As A Supreme" that was published in 1986.
