Patti Austin was born on this date in 1950, [[in the same year, but a few weeks different from myself) which [[ahem) was a few years after Cal.....

Cal and Patti also share their birth date with Ronnie Spector [[1943) and the late, great Bobby Hatfield [[1940-2003)....

Wonderful sequence. Thank you so much for posting. Do you know if there is any live footage of the line-up that included Betty Kelly - I loved the "Batman" number by the way, with Sandra Tilley.

I listen to a lot of "girl groups" in and out of Motown but I will say Cal Street has since I
was a youngin' one of my favorite voices. Nobody phrases quite like she does and I always
wished the Velvelettes had stayed intact much much longer. I never met them as some have
but from what I gather they seemed to have gotten along well and had so much fun recording.
Needle In A Haystack sounds like girls vamping at a party...
