Hi All: I hope we aren't going to lose another performer just days after Prince left us. They say that Little Richard had a stroke and some other stuff and that his health has not been good for the past year. We can only pray and hope for the best. http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/2016/05/02/days-after-prince-little-richard-on-deathwatch/

IT'S A HOAX!

News of singer Little Richard’s death spread quickly earlier this week causing concern among fans across the world. However the May 2016 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax and just the latest in a string of fake celebrity death reports.

Little Richard death hoax spreads on Facebook. Even the national news media was spoofed and reported this as being true.

Rumors of the singer’s alleged demise gained traction on Sunday after a ‘R.I.P. Little Richard’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. Those who read the ‘About’ page were given a believable account of the American singer’s passing:

“At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday [[May 01, 2016), our beloved singer Little Richard passed away. Little Richard was born on December 5, 1932 in Macon. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 83-year-old singer and pianist was dead. And as usual, Twittersphere was frenzied over the death hoax.

Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major American network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of a singer of Little Richard's stature would be major news across networks.

A recent poll conducted for the Celebrity Post shows that a large majority [[69%) of respondents think those Little Richard death rumors are not funny anymore.

On Monday [[May 02) the singer's reps officially confirmed that Little Richard is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.

Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much loved singer. Others say this shows his extreme popularity across the globe.

It is really stupid when people do something like this. I mean, what is the point?

It also shows you can't believe something just because it's on Facebook or Twitter.

People say believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

People say believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. You mean like Prince's "freakiness"? ;)

That or his being a "conservative" person in his private life. LOL.

Look at it this way: One of us has to be right.

That he is, and always been a conservative in his private life has far more evidence than yours or Splanky's belief.
