Thank God....Someone just called me asking me....

Aretha Franklin has not died, a source close to the singer told the Detroit Free Press, despite rumors claiming the ailing music icon has passed.

The unnamed insider told the newspaper late Monday Franklin, who is being treated for pancreatic cancer, is "home, alive and recovering."

Erroneous reports of her death Monday may have stemmed from the weekend passing of singer Teena Marie, who is known as the Ivory Queen of Soul, the Free Press noted Tuesday.

Franklin has long been referred to as the Queen of Soul.

Hopefully, this has made us more aware of the Queen of Soul's condition, and that we continue to pray for her recovery. A divine blessing is needed, I fear.

I'm glad to hear that Aretha Franklin is at home recovering and I'll keep her in my prayers. Teena Marie's death really hurt me and I don't know what I'd do if we lost Aretha.

Twitter is really starting to make me sick. They made up three death stories concerning celebrities. The top three were Eddie Murphy, Owen Wilson and Adam Sandler. Really, where do these fools come up with the stories?!

I'm actually hopeful she'll beat this. :)

I like to see Aretha live at least 22 more years. 68 is TOO YOUNG to go IMHO.
