From today's Washington Post. A total of 25 sound recordings will be added to the National Recording Registry. Only ONE Motown song, WDOLG, was included in this group. For details please read:

Since I posted this earlier this morning, I have been trying to think of previous listings of recordings added to the Registry. I honestly can say this is the first I have ever heard of this Registry. Has anyone else ever heard of it and most importantly, if this has been in existence for years, is this the first and only Motown song that has ever been added?

Doing a quick perusal of the list on this link, I saw the following Motown recordings:
2003- What's Going On, Marvin Gaye
2005- Songs In The Key Of Life, Stevie Wonder
2007-Tracks Of My Tears - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
also, Thriller, Michael Jackson [[though, technically not Motown)
