Folks....I hope your holiday was an enjoyable one for you! As promised, we have a second
Philadelphia Soul show tonight [[so much incredible Philly soul...so little time). The incredible productions and writing of Gamble & Huff, Thom Bell & Linda Creed....the amazing talents of the O'jays, the Three Degrees, the Jones Girls, the Spinners, Deneice Williams, Teddy Pendergrass, Jean Carne and so many others too numerous to mention. Motown is certainly the heart and soul of "Nightflight"...but if Motown is my "wife"...Philly soul is my "Mrs. Jones"...and I'll NEVER let her go! So join me tonight for a continuation of my endless affair with the SOUND of PHILADELPHIA...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and streaming live in digital stereo at www.womr.org [[http://www.womr.org)

Thanks! And a happy and healthy New Year to my buddies here at Soulful Detroit [[oops....I guess tonight I mean "Soulful PHILLY!).

John

That's my favorite Ronnie recording. Gorgeous work by Thom Bell.

The upbeat melody doesn't match the subject matter though.

MJ, it's okay to have an affair, but don't let it affect your marriage to Motown! LOL! Totally enjoying all the tunes you are playing.

The Jones Girls as hookers? Probably not, but that's how I first interpreted "Children Of The Night." What awesome harmonies these ladies of the night possess!
