That is great. I have to watch it. Donny Gerard is in her act too. He is one of her backing vocalists.

It's showing at specialised theatres in the UK. Anyone from London UK might be interested to know that it is on this week at Bloomsbury near Russell Square
Wonderful film and so uplifting. Al Stewart said he doesn't want to take anything away from Aretha but Mavis is Mavis Staples!!

What do you all think about the single [[I Have Learned) Mavis had when she went solo or just recorded a solo album the song was taken from. I remember hearing it on WVON around 1969 or perhaps a bit later in Chicago and I liked it especially the violins. Anyone know how well the album and/or the song did?

Mr. June: Man. I loved that song! I listen to it today, especially at night! It's one of my favorite songs of all time. The single did okay on the R & B chart, I don't think the album sold all that well.
