You have to understand. I was like 6, maybe 7 years old and getting ready for Trick or Treating when this was on TV. Lyndon Johnson was the US President and TV was still mostly shown in black and white! LOL!!!

This was 3 months before I was born, so I didn't see it when it originally aired.

Luke, you would not have heard or seen this back then as it was a local show out of Windsor, Canada. The show was "Swingin' Time" on CKLW TV

I hope some one comes up with Florence Ballard's appearance on Swingin' Time. That would be great.

She definitely sang and performed on the show. I saw a still photo from her appearance on Swingin' Time and she was onstage singing with a mic.

When asked - Cal Street responds to such a question with......"39 and still holding" HAHAHA

That's wonderful, bfx! What a lot of steps to remember. Does Cal recall whether they were singing live - or indeed at all? I wonder whether the whole audio track, including the "lead" vocals, was created by the TV musicians.

DO ask her to add this number to the Ladies' set on their next visit to England. There could be a lot of caped crusaders in the audience ...

"Turn around and step on it, Robin!", as our hero once remarked.

[[aged 39 too, but more clinging than holding)

Who are the two other Velvelettes performing? And did they perform any other song and has anyone seen a video of it? In 1966 I would think they may have performed These Things Will Keep Me Loving You

It's definitely Annette McMillan, and thus I'm assuming the third is Sandy Tilley, although her face is obscured by the mask and the overprinted type most of the time so it's difficult to tell.

Maybe.

There was a clip on YouTube a while back where they had on light dresses and sang THESE THINGS...

Annette's daughter has commented on some of their other video clips.

I so love this.

So do I. It really is, for me, a little time capsule of my childhood in this one. By the way, Sandra' cousin from Cleveland and I use chat briefly. She said that she and their entire family were so very proud when Sandra joined Martha & the Vandellas and that the whole group would come to her house whenever they played the Cleveland area.
