1993 vs. 2016: Cary Mansfield

In 1993 Cary Mansfield was with Motown in Los Angeles. He was responsible for producing several great Motown Masters compilations, specifically:

Deliver the Singles - 1961-1971 - Marvelettes
Looking Back - 1961-1964 - Mary Wells
Live Wire - The Singles - 1962-1972 - Martha & the Vandellas

These were all double [[2) CD releases.

Is anyone in contact with him recently or have any idea of what he is currently doing these days? You rarely hear any mention of him. We owe a lot to Cary for his efforts.

He went to work for Varese Sarabande and has been a reissue producer there.

The most recent project I am aware of is one he did for the RealGone label. It was the Buckinghams singles collection...except Sony only sent them the stereo tapes when they wanted the mono tapes for the authentic mono singles mixes.

When he went to Varese Sarabande/Vintage in the mid-90s, he oversaw a lot of excellent 60s, 70s, and 80s compilations.
