Great song, personal favorite.

One of the first Supremes non - singles that I ever heard. Still love it.

Yes, a great song.

I got the mono album in 1964. When I got the Greatest Hits in 1967 it was in stereo. I noticed a few differences in the stereo mixes on several songs. In particular, I noticed that Diana forgot a few words in Standing At The Crossroads. Notice it at 2:00 to about 2:04.

^ Yeah, she kinda forgot to sing "don't know which way to turn!" there but fully recovered lol

That's what I admire about Miss Ross, she makes some mistakes but she always make those mistakes sound genius. :D

Totally agree midnightman. It's a wonder she didn't forget lyrics more often when you consider the sheer volume of songs she recorded.
Years ago I was at a show in the UK and she attempted to perform her UK only top 10 hit "all of my life". Halfway through the song she forgot the lyrics and members of the audience had to come to her rescue. I don't think she had ever performed the song previously or since for that matter!

^ Diana has so many songs in her back catalog, I can see why she would forget lyrics to some songs.

On the Return to Love tour with Scherrie and Lynda, which I saw in Tampa, FL, in the mid-section of seating, but hung above the seats with a straight view from the stage, they had a monitor giving her the words on the Supremes' songs.
Standing In The Crossroads got a lot of airplay on R&B radio...it was the flip of When The Lovelights.

For some reason, neither Diane nor Mary is very good with lyrics to their hits while in performance. Makes me crazy. I can't imagine why this would be, after all these decades of performing them.
