An intelligent piece this, from the early 1970s, properly charting the interplay between the early Motown sound, and The Beatles. Personally, I think the original versions of Money and Please Mr Postman are infinitely better than The Beatles' covers.

Interesting read, thanks for posting. I agree with you about the Beatles cover of Money and Please Mr. Postman, and will also throw in Twist and Shout. Listening to the Beatles try and sing Twist and Shout is like nails on a chalk board to my ears.

I don't really rate any of the Beatles cover versions so I would agree with you about the originals being superior, but on their own material they were awesome.
