Good for Diana but i am not sure i would pay out good money to see what nowadays is a quite short show. I can understand why she is not on stage for 2 hours anymore but i do wish she would resurrect some older lesser known songs rather than churning out "i will survive" every time. She seems content doing what she does so i suppose we should be pleased for her.

For the hardcore fans, it's a repetitive show now. But she isn't aiming for us anymore and the shows sellout ~ so how can she argue with that?

I'm a sucker for Diana % Mary and I see them frequently, however, Diana needs to change her act to see me more often. We are going to both Nashville shows because they listed songs she would be singing and several news ones were added. Mary, martha, Patti, Gladys, Chaka, Aretha, Natalie all change their set lists frequently.

I agree about her show length, but most Divas are doing 75 minute sets these days. Patti goes over 90, and Diana does also but only in big arenas. She's a little strange about that, I think. Bottom line: our girls are in their 70's and one day we'll wish we saw them more.

Extra time wears the voices too.

What were the new songs they listed that she would sing?

Back In My Arms again and i Hear A Symphony that I can remember. I deleted the email, but will try to dig it up for the others.

Marys Wilsons Supremes show has been the same give or take a song like Brown Sugar since 1986 imo. Gladys Knight talk through 40 percent of her show and it come across real phony to me. ive seen miss Knight in concert three times in Vegas and twice in LA but i will never see her again.

Fondly,

Roberta

But you cannot argue with that voice Roberta. It's virtually as good as it was 40 years ago. Amazing.

Mary's voice is limited but because she looked after it and worked with, it has lasted

She took a basic voice and made a career out of her career with Diana Ross and she could easily have ended up with no career at all. It wasn't a career of chart success or big headlines, but she stayed in the business and managed.

As you well know Roberta i have nothing but the utmost respect for you as a person, but regarding Ms Knight i found her to be very friendly and gracious on the occasions that i met her. I am not saying she is perfect, but i could name at least 20 performers who do not have a an ounce of Ms Knight's talent yet have been total and utter nightmares to work with, but as i said earlier i totally respect your opinion which i greatly value as you know only too well.

Have a blessed Sunday.
