Yup! I'm enjoyin' it, too! I may not be posting so much, but I am reading more. I've been saying for years that all people had to do is start threads about a variety of things, and for the longtimers to start posting again. Now, I haven't really seen too many vets come back, but perhaps this new vibe will encourage them. Maybe the record people will even come back.

I spend a lot less time here than in "the old days" [[2002-2009) because there are a lot less threads that have any interest for me. I'm interested in talking about individual records, record labels, owners, producers, arrangers session musicians, the technical aspects of recording, basically, the history [[what actually happened back when that music was made). Most of what is talked about now are the public and personal lives of artists, and posters' opinions of them, people's opinions of individual songs [[favourites, what they like and don't like). And, I'm mainly interested in R&B, City Blues, Country and Folk Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Soul music from about 1935-1969. I'm not really interested in the 1970s and more modern music. I'm not really even interested in "The Oldies Circuit" [[single artists and groups from the eras I like, that are still performing [[e.g. current recordings and videos by them and shows by them).

When I find out about something I didn't know about back in The 1950s or 1960s, about which I want to learn more, I post my question on SDF. But, those threads quickly die, as there is very little interest in those questions, or no one here anymore that can answer those questions, or contribute to the conversation.

I'm like you, Rob. I'd rather read about and talk about the more technical and production side of things like in the old days of the forum. But. as with many other music or audio forums, the non-technical members take over and it becomes more like a Yahoo forum or Facebook. There's nothing wrong with sharing opinions, or talking gossip once in a while, but not all the time!
