Wow, Great pics Copley! I use to drive past the Uptown Theater on Broad Street in Philly about once a week in the 80s and it looked nothing like that!

Spooky! Same picture but it has been photo-shopped. Also the Temptations are billed twice!

Perhaps they thought they needed to update the marquee as it would appear on that collections cover to fully describe it. But the original photo's marquee actually explains and reveals so much more information of that period just as it was. Everything--very regretfully in this instance--seems subject to change. History keeps getting revised, willy-nilly.
