This is the record that made Freddie famous over here. Acting as mad as a hatter was his trademark

A very "corny" comedy version, making a novelty song out of Rudy Clark's beautiful song, and not a good advertisement to spur listeners to seek out James Ray's wonderful original recording. I'd have expected a more serious remake, more like Paul McCartney's [[Beatles'?) remake of James Ray's "I've Got My Mind Set On You" [[another Rudy Clark song).

Freddie lived about 1 mile from my house in Manchester....we used to walk past his house on the way to the Saturday morning pictures [[movies)....3 Stooges, Rocket man, Flash Gordon etc and a penny Hovis on the way home

George Harrison covered I've Got My Mind Set On You, not Paul.
