You're just now getting disgusted? I've been disgusted with them for decades! They all have their heads up each others' asses! Did you hear what Bushie III said? "Stuff Happens!". That's all they will say because they fear the NRA so much.

No IVe Also bEven disgusted your years but something has to be done. Sadly that disgusting comment Jen bush made will only make the NRA support him more. President Obama gave one of the best speeches Ive ever heard about the need for stricter gun laws. It is a stain on this nation and May God forgive what the NRA have done because blood is all over there hands.

That statistic may be true, Roberta... but consider other differences between the US and those other countries. They have robust safety nets for low income people, meaning less destitute, desperate people roaming the streets, they have free and easy access to mental health care, where we don't, and those other countries have a far smaller minority population without all the racial baggage this country has. If you go around this country, you will find that rural counties, counties with highest gun ownership rates have the lowest crime rates. I'd be perfectly fine with Prohibition, BTW... nobody needs liquor, and then drunk driving and all the deaths that come from that would stop, don't you think?

The stats you linked has absolutely NO information linking it to gun ownership. Furthermore, it is a wrong assumption that all of those homicides happened with guns owned by the perp.

Add all this to the fact that as the population is higher in large metropolitan areas, so is the homicide rate.

But, here are some links for further reading:

Soulster... look at the 4th bar graph down, you will see gun ownership in rural areas at TWICE the level of Urban, but yet our homicide rates are considerably lower.

The stats I linked to are rates per 100,000 people, so they are true, direct comparisons.

Also, those who live on rural areas are also over 50, overwhelmingly non-Hispanic White, and conservative republican. And, again, the population is more dense in urban areas. So, yeah, homicides will be lower but look at the whole picture.

The stats I linked to are rates per 100,000 people...

Compared to what? 100,000 in the same areas, or compared to urban areas? And, since we have recently discovered that there is a federal law that prohibits the government from researching gun violence, and law enforcement is legally not allowed to report their shootings, we cannot have a clear picture of how more Blacks are being killed by guns at the hands of police officers. We can speculate, but, concentrating on gun ownership is not giving us the whole story.
