With an $800 loan from his family, Berry Gordy Jr. established Motown Records in January 1959. Within a few months on September 29, 1959, Barry Gordy's first release 'Bad Girl' by The Miracles, entered the Billboard Pop chart. I have it on the Chess label, but never knew that it was available on the original pink Motown in some areas of the country
