Good morning, MJ.

I notice that new Ace CD includes an early version of Liz Lands's "Midnight Johnny". At two in the morning everything's an early version!

Evening John!

Nice choice on this Lionel cut. This always sounded to me like the stuff he would have been doing with The Commodores had he stayed in the group. Breaks up the ballady monotony of his eighties solo albums nicely.....

It's amazing to hear the "Bring back the sunshine" line , knowing that this is a reworking of A&S's original version recorded by the Velvelettes.

Don't Forget The Motor City lists a completion date of Marvin's version as March 26, 1969 and Diana Ross' as January 21, 1970- so you are absolutely correct, Mr. Perrone.

Listen again to the distinctive background voice........on All Night Long.... at times, the Andantes backed this vocalist even live in the early days....
Do you recognize who it is?????

Now that Brenda Holloway and Andy Skurow were recently honored at the Hal Awards, have you considered an online interview with both of them about the experience?
