It doesn't seem very long since we said goodbye to Joe Sample and Wayne Henderson - now sadly Wilton Felder has left us.

Another sad loss. I suppose it is inevitable that our ageing heroes are passing away with alarming regularity but that doesn't make it anything less than very sad. R.I.P Wilton and thank you for the music.

Man...only one original Crusader left. RIP to a virtuoso. Just texted my brother; he's gonna plotz.

Wilton was a gem and a phenominal musician who often got criminally overlooked as far
as his contributions to American music. Both in and outside of Motown. His sax on Eddie Kendricks' Honey Brown impressed me as much as his bass on the Jackson 5's IWant You Back. And then there's his Crusaders work. Legacy maxed. I will miss him....
