A shame MJ didn't do more type of jazzy type stuff like this. Stevie at his zenith here and Susaye is a fine lyricist... MJ's vocals were top notch here.

One of my favorites from "Off the Wall" along with "It's The Falling In Love". It would have been great to hear more music like this from him

^ I think it's more a version he cut for his radio show or for a radio show he was a guest on a few years ago [[from what I gathered in YouTube comments).

I love this song as much as any of his releases. Stevie's version was a pleasant surprise [[thanks, daddyacey!). I also dig the version done by Grover Washington, Jr.on his terribly underrated "Skylarkin'" LP.

"I Can't Help It" is enchanting. MJ's catalog is full of classics but this one stands out because it wasn't a single but it's still in rotation on L.A. radio. It seems to appeal to many jazz vocal artists and it's been covered many times over the years. Recently, Dee Dee Bridgewater went full jazz with it as featured artist on Theo Croker's "Afro Physicist."

I've been mixing the MJ and GW versions together on turntables at home when I have little get together's for years. Both versions are excellent. I stumbled upon the youtube by accident. The track has that "composed by Stevie" feeling that comes thru,no matter who he writes them for. [[For ex.. "Tell Me Somthing Good" , "It's A Shame" ,"Until You Come Back To Me" ,"Perfect Angel"...etc..)

Will Downing has the Luther touch when it comes to putting his own stamp on classic songs and in some cases almost creates a new song. As other posts have stated this is a lovely song and there appears to be several noteworthy versions out there.
