Whenever I see that photo, my mind is drawn to the Marvelettes. The setting reminds me of the Marvelettes' album cover "In Full Bloom" and the difference in height of the Supremes of the 'pink album cover. Here Cindy is comparable to Katherine, Jean to Wanda and Mary to Gladys.
Although Mary is ordinarily a very beautiful women, this photo does not do her justice. I wish that a slight bit of airbrushing had been applied here or another shot from the same photo session used.
And before anyone goes on the defensive, that is just my opinion.

.

Well if that's the case, then don't forget that Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro, Dusty Springfield were writers of songs recorded by Motown artists, and there are many Motown Christmas and Broadway & tv related selections......

Thanks so much for playing that great extension of yours of Frances' all-too-terribly-few Motown recordings.

Another wonderful RTR show, John. A real ear-opener. [[And so was that terrific interview you did with Frances a ways back. Unforgettable.)
