The Orioles were one of the pioneer group harmony groups. We here in NJ have a connection to them,in that my late friend and great singer Bobby Thomas led an Orioles group for many years. In fact I think Diz sang with Bobby.Just this month at a concert put on by Charlie Horner of classicurbanharmony.net a great Philly acappella group Quiet Storm [[check them on youtube) did a tribute to Bobby and The Orioles. And it gets better. The original lead of The original Orioles,Sonny Til's grandson has surfaced and is in the process of putting together a tribute to his grandfather and will perform here in New Jersey at Monmouth College with Quiet Storm as his back up Orioles. For more info go to CUH.net for pics and stories under "recent listings" tab.You can contact me at Kthom6143@aol.com for more info or if you have questions.
